Who will be the last survivor on the island? Will she take the million dollars or will she pick the man? And who will survive in the house with twelve other contestants? Will they like how the couple renovated the room? Reality TV. It's the new craze. Some folks like it. Some folks don't Sometimes my own 'reality' is enough to handle for one day. Our reality question for August goes something like this, "How will Mom & Dad drop off their daughter in Washington, D.C. and drive back home??." Jennifer, our now 18 year old high school graduate turned to me recently and said, "It's starting to feel real.' Reality can be a little scary. Reality can make Moms and Dads teary-eyed. Reality can lead one to pray/ On Saturday, August 16th, our packed van will pull out of our driveway--next stop, Galluadet University, Washington, D.C. We will enjoy three days of family orientation--University professors and professionals will tell us about our new reality. Jennifer will meet a new roommate. New home for her. New reality. We will hear about programs, opportunities, social events, homecomings, transportation, holiday trips,---lots and lots more! Talk about reality! We will drive home from Washington, D.C. with the knowledge that when it comes to reality--our God shines! We don't serve or worship a God who only shows up on flannel boards, or picture books--we serve a God who is smack dab ion the center of our reality---challenging as it might be Our Lord is with us! Now...that might not stop a few tears from coming--but I know the Name of the one who will wipe await ours --and hers Let us pray for one another's 'reality' each and every day! Peace be yours Pastor Matt, Marsha, Jenn and Matthew Ryan
