Ring! Beep! "You've got mail!" Home or office? Your server? If I need to get in touch with you...what's the best way to reach you? Cell Phone? Pager? Address? E-Mail? WOW! Are we ever accessible! It's hard to stay in hiding these days. If you want to be left alone, turn off your cell phone, toss the pager, pull the plug on the phone, cancel AOL, and don't answer the door! Being alone takes a lot of work. I wonder...is it worth all that effort? We were not made to be islands. We're not made by Hands that wanted you to live secluded. Sure, it sounds great to "get away from it all," but eventually, it's even better to be back in "it all" again. We were made for relationships. We need friends. We need co-workers. Family matters. People. I like to be with people. Oh, I know, many will curse the cell phones, and wonder why we must have those silly pagers, and if I get one more poem on my E-mail... Who needs all those connections. Maybe we do. I do. Has there been a time in history when we have needed to be with one another more than now? Ever been a day when if we needed to contact the one closest to us - it was easy? Could all this modern tech be ordained by God? I am glad to be accessible. I am glad to be at the other end of my cell phone, just a page away, and - go ahead - E-Mail me. MatthewLash@aol.com. I like poems. I need to be in touch with people. We are people who need...people. I need you. I value your continued prayers. I cherish your friendship in faith. And, in case I haven't told you lately, it's great to see you on Sunday morning! Beep! Buzz! Ring! "You've got mail!" Enjoy your connections! It's great to be the PEOPLE of God!
